TORONTO (Gray News) – A Canadian couple can’t wait to pay their bills and travel the world after winning a $ 60 million lottery jackpot playing dream numbers 20 years ago.
Deng Pravatoudom, 57, has been playing the same lottery numbers for 20 years after her husband dreamed of it one night. On Dec. 1, she won the $ 60 million jackpot, according to a press release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Pravatoudom says it was her husband who broke the news to her. She went to the bank to pay some bills, while he went to check the bills.
âWhen we got in the car he told me that we had won the $ 60 million jackpot. He was serious, wasn’t kidding, so I knew he was telling the truth,â Pravatoudom said. I started to cry. I have always prayed for a blessing so that my family would be taken care of.
Pravatoudom immigrated to Canada from Laos with her 14 siblings in 1980. She says she and her husband have worked for over 40 years to support their two children, who are now adults.
With their earnings, the couple plan to buy a new home, pay some bills, help out their family, and travel the world, once it’s safe to do so.
âOther than when I came to Canada from Laos, I never really traveled, so I want to see Europe, Texas, Hawaii. I am delighted to see the world, âsaid Pravatoudom.
