Two Irish punters win big in national lottery jackpot draw


Wednesday night’s € 19million national lottery draw saw two lucky punters walk away much richer, winning mega prizes.

Although there was no winner for the jackpot of € 19,060,800, two different players found five numbers plus the bonus number, earning them a comfortable € 384,261.

The winning numbers for Wednesday were: 6, 7, 14, 22 32, 46 and the bonus 47.

Meanwhile, a total of 30 winners matched four numbers plus the bonus number – each winning € 1,601.

Although there was no winner in the Lotto Plus 1 draw, worth € 1 million, a player found five numbers and the Lotto Plus 2 draw bonus, taking home € 2,500.

In Wednesday’s Lotto and Lotto Plus draws, more than 136,000 people won cash prizes.

The record-breaking National Lottery jackpot will be carried over to this Saturday’s draw again, allowing even more players to win big.

While the overall jackpot of 19 million euros will remain the same, the working capital will be distributed to the next prize level at which there are winners.

The latest draw comes as the Office of the National Lottery Regulator (ORNL) reveals in its annual report that ticket sales for national lottery games have fallen from € 884.5 million in 2019 to € 919.9 million. million euros in 2020 through online sales.

The annual report found that COVID-19 restrictions triggered an increase in online sales, which rose to 14.8% of total sales for 2020, from 9.1% of sales in 2019.

ORNL also revealed that in 2020, 270 million euros had been donated to the Exchequer for the benefit of good causes.
