Shahreen Ahmad’s dream of opening a restaurant has come closer after the first entrant in the Emirates raffle received Dhs77,777 in winnings in the latest raffle live stream, which took place on Sunday, March 27.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw my name on the screen. It was such a happy and exciting time for me. I called my wife at home to tell her I had won, and she told me to take my winnings and go home,” laughed Shahreen, a 26-year-old Pakistani expat.

Ahmad, who works as a delivery man in Dubai, revealed that he decided to buy a ticket on a whim from an authorized retail store in Al Barsha.

“I was inspired by the stories of other winners, so I thought I would also participate since I want to start my own restaurant. I bought my ticket and decided to choose random numbers”, did he declare.

“The first thing I want to do is take a vacation to see my family.
