Area residents can once again enter to win tickets to the annual MLB Little League Classic at Bowman Field in August. This year’s contest, scheduled for Sunday, August 21, will feature the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles as part of ESPN. “Sunday Night Baseball” at 19 ‘o clock
Entry for tickets is open to residents of Lycoming County. The competition runs until Wednesday, June 29. Winners will be notified after the competition ends with instructions on how to receive their tickets.
Those who wish to receive their tickets can enter now at MLB.com/LLClassic. Individuals must register by noon on Wednesday, June 29 to enter the contest. Those entering must be legal residents of Lycoming County and must be at least 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Fifty prizes will be awarded and the draw is limited to one entry per person/email address.
This year’s classic will be the fifth game played at Bowman Field. The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the first MLB Little League Classic in 2017 to 2,596 fans – the most ever for an MLB Little League Classic in Bowman Field. The New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies in 2018, 8-2. The Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1, in 2019, and the then-Cleveland Indians beat the Los Angeles Angels, 3-0, in 2021. There were no match in 2020 due to the series being canceled due to the covid19 Pandemic. This year’s game between the Red Sox and the Orioles was originally scheduled for 2020.
This year’s analysts for the game will be David Cone and Eduardo Perez. Karl Ravech will do play-by-play and Buster Olney will do side reports. It’s the first classic for Cone and Perez as analysts.
