(WWJ) An Oakland County man plans to start a college fund for his children after winning a $1.43 million Michigan Lottery jackpot.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, found the winning Lotto 47 numbers drawn on January 19: 07-12-19-30-43-47. He purchased his winning ticket at the Shell Gas Station, located at 3950 East 10 Mile Rd., Ryan Rd., Warren.
“I buy a Lotto 47 ticket every time I stop to fill up,” the 45-year-old said. “I was checking the numbers the day after the draw when I realized I had found them all. An irresistible feeling came over me and I felt like I was dreaming.
An unusual note about this victory: it was the second big winning ticket bought from Warren in a short time.
Earlier this week, it was announced that a 74-year-old Macomb County man had won $4 million on a scratch ticket he purchased at Warren’s Smoker’s Outlet at 31900 Ryan Rd.
The last lucky player recently visited the Lottery headquarters to claim the top prize. He elected to receive his earnings as a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $992,000 rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to start a college fund for his children and then save the rest.
“I still feel like this is all just a dream, I’m truly blessed,” he said.
