A dad who had a ‘strange feeling’ that he had won a $60million lottery jackpot has been stunned after answering the phone to find his instincts were right.

The proud Aussie dad scooped the entire Powerball One division jackpot today.

The Canberra man bought tickets for the Powerball 1363 draw but didn’t bother to look when his winning numbers – 22, 6, 1, 16, 17, 29 and 11, and the Powerball 2 – came up .

He found out when he got a call from lottery officials and picked it up on the first ring, according to 9news.

“Are you serious?” he reportedly told The Lott’s caller when he heard the life-changing news.

“I’m laughing. I’m at a loss for words. I’m going around in circles. I can’t believe it.

“I’m going to have a heart attack.”

He added: “You know what? I had a feeling it was The Lott calling me. I thought, ‘They’re going to call me at 8:30 tonight’. Wow. Wow. Wow.”

The lucky lotto winner said he always plays the same numbers, inspired by his family.

The numbers earned him $60,701,558.85 (£34,422,972.41), once his Division One win and 19 Division Two awards were taken into account.

The man has already started making plans.

“I’m going to retire,” he said.

“I have kids and a really big family. We’re going to take care of them. I can’t believe it. Oh my God.”

The lucky dad said the win comes after a tough year.

“I’m going to pay some bills and live debt-free. I’m going to take a long-awaited vacation with my family,” he said.

Divisions two through nine contributed approximately $32 million combined.
