“We’ve been buying tickets since September and for us it wasn’t a hard decision to make,” the Moultons said in a statement, after picking up $ 141,105 in the HSN 50/50 cash lottery.

“We have used HSN several times because our oldest son has epilepsy and our youngest has type 1 diabetes. The care our sons receive at HSN has been excellent.

“It’s great to win, but it’s nice to know that the other half of the winnings also support the hospital.”

The Moulton’s earnings are a record for the hospital’s monthly 50/50 draw, which began earlier this year.

When asked what they were going to do with their winnings, the couple weren’t quite sure. “When the family was at HSN taking pictures, I could feel my phone ringing in my pocket with messages from friends and colleagues. It’s still a bit of a shock, ”said Danny.

“We weren’t expecting to win the 50/50, so we didn’t really think about it,” added Julie. “The most likely thing is probably a snowmobile for the family, but we’ve got some renovations we’re thinking about and, of course, raising the kids.

“Maybe an Oculus VR headset? »Adds Alexei, the youngest of the family.

“Christmas is coming too,” replied Julie, laughing.

Anthony Keating, president and CDO of foundations and volunteer groups at HSN, said he was happy to call the family with the good news. He also said the hospital’s 50 percent share of the raffle was being put to good use.

“In October, we were able to invest a portion of the 50/50 proceeds to purchase $ 150,000 in new equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the HSN Breast Screening and Assessment Service. The HSN 50/50 is truly a win-win solution for our community.
