A Filipino nurse in the United Arab Emirates just won the grand prize in a millionaire draw in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 3.
Anabelle Manalastas Dela Cruz was the proud owner of the winning ticket chosen during the event broadcast live from Big Ticket, an England-based lottery game. The draw was worth 12 million dirhams or 166 million pesos.
Dela Cruz was absent from the event at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Fortunately, she was able to respond to the show host Richard when he called her on the phone, as seen on the lottery show. the Facebook page December 3.
She will share the jackpot with 14 other people and win a share of nearly 2 million dirhams (around P27 million), Gulf News reported yesterday, December 4th. She told the outlet that she planned to complete a personal loan payment for a house in the Philippines of almost 1.3 million pesos.
Dela Cruz said she bought the winning raffle ticket along with five to six other friends. She is a nurse at a public hospital in Abu Dhabi, according to a Khaleej weather report yesterday, December 4th.

Dela Cruz has been in the United Arab Emirates since 2011 and has been buying tickets for four years. She, along with some of her friends, shared the money to buy the ticket on November 29, according to the Khaleej weather report.
The nurse also said she usually kept her phone on silent when she was at work; Fortunately, that day, she chose to check her phone when it rang.
