$ 40 Million Powerball Lotto Winning Numbers | Prize draw 1,227 results

A man from Cairns shared how he celebrated after winning the entire $ 40 million Powerball draw. He only thought about taking a shower.

A man from far north Queensland held the only nationally winning division in the 1227 Powerball draw after a random pick.

In addition to taking home the Division 1 prize of $ 40 million, the winner’s PowerHit entry also scored Division Two 19 times, bringing its total prize to $ 40,430,542.90.

Strangely, one of the first things the new millionaire did was take a shower.

“I won’t be able to sleep tonight!” said the winner.

“I thought I would check my ticket before I went to bed. I was pretty calm. I knew I had some of the numbers and thought I could have won division six.

“Then I took another look and thought ‘no you’re wrong!’ I took another look. Then I went to take a shower.

The health worker confessed he is considering early retirement and plans to use his windfall to buy a new home, travel to Australia and share with his family.

The lucky man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning PowerHit entry at the newsXpress store in Edge Hill.

The numbers for the $ 40 million Powerball jackpot were 1, 12, 3, 2, 25, 13, and 23 with a Powerball of 1.

The jackpot skyrocketed as no entry contained the seven winning numbers and the all-important Powerball number needed to win the Premier League in the past five weeks.

But although there was no Division 1 winner during this span, 13 Division 2 winners across the country have come closer.

These players had entries with all the correct numbers – except the Powerball number, which is required to become a multimillionaire overnight.

Lott spokesman Matt Hart said any winner of Division 1 tonight will join the 12 other Australians who have won a multi-million dollar Powerball prize so far this year.

“2019 has been a historic year for Powerball, with record jackpots offered and a delighted dozen receiving over $ 477.5 million in life-changing cash prizes,” he said.

“But the year is not over yet. We look forward to our next Powerball 1 division winner, who will be our 13th of the year.

“There are around 40 days left in the year and decade, and we know many Australians dream of how a $ 40 million prize in their bank account would end 2019 in an unforgettable way.”

A $ 40 million Division One Powerball Prize was last won in March this year when Adelaide’s father made the spectacular discovery after deciding to check his entry after the draw for “something to to do”.

“I’m not into flashy houses or cars – it’s all about family,” said the South Australian man at the time.

“We are quite involved in the local community in which we live. We would love to give back to charities and organizations that are close to our hearts in the community.

“We’ve been doing it hard over the past few years, so it will make all the difference for my family. “

So far in 2019, five of the 12 Powerball jackpots have gone to NSW players, while three have gone to Victorians and two to Queenslanders and South Australians.

Those winners include a woman from within Sydney who won a $ 107 million Powerball prize in January. She remains the biggest individual lottery winner in the country.

Mr Hart said anyone purchasing an entry in tonight’s draw has been asked to register their entries on a player card so that their prize is secure and they can receive a life-changing phone call.

“I’ll be ready after tonight’s draw to contact any Division 1 winner, but I can only do that if that ticket holder is registered,” he said.

“If your numbers are pulled out of the barrel tonight, you’ll want us to contact you as soon as possible to confirm your new multimillionaire status.”

The 1227 Powerball draw ends on Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. AEST.

Tickets can be purchased at any authorized lottery outlet, online at thelott.com or through the Lott mobile app.
